Prologue:
As she
remained tackled to the ground
Anxiety
and fear pumping through her vein
Aderopo seemingly
thought no one was around
And his desire
to revenge did not wane
The
sordid tale continues yet again
To
examine the uncertain aftermath
How Miss Tawa
had to deal with the bane
Of the prince’s
dark and cynical path
How can
this possibly ever be?
After all
that was said and done
All she
wanted was for him to see
That their
love was second to none
The
chemistry started long before
And over
the years grew as a whole
For feelings
on either side came to fore
One
spirit, one being, one unified goal
From her
wine glass she took delightful sips
Thinking
of what next to do
As all
day long she dreamt about his lips
The charm
of Aderopo’s woo
So why
did Ropo want her dead?
Why did
he want to force his way?
Freely
she would have given in instead
Would she
see the light of day?
As she
lay there thinking all hope was lost
“I am no
longer a virgin” she helplessly said
But his
alter ego wanted his way at all cost
And all
she felt was a bang in her head!
The
tensions grew very high that night
Agbekoya
and Danladi arrived on the scene
To save
the day and end her fright
But she
was left distraught like never seen
She
walked steadily towards where he laid
As tears
kept running down her face
All she
could think of was the friendship pact they made
And held
him close in a warm embrace
Mixed
emotions as he lay in her arms
A life so
promising and a love so true
Ropo
opened his eyes but not gone were his charms
To tell
her “Please forgive me and I love you”
She
wished she had known much earlier
How to help
him with his troubled past
But as
things began to get clearer
His
anguish and pain were over at last
Epilogue
With no
more Akote mysteries left to solve
Her
voice and her smile faded along with the fear
As she
continued to cling to her true love
To foster their friendship elsewhere…

Inspired
by award winning director Kunle Afolayan's movie "October 1", Tunde
Babalola's script writing and Kehinde Bankole's acting as "Miss Tawa" . This poem is the writer's imagination on how things would have concluded for "Prince Aderopo" and "Miss Tawa". A mixture of actual events from the movie and fictional events based on sheer imagination.
